Creative Play

Creative Play

blank paper
staring up at me
no idea
where all this will lead
time to begin
my creative play

grabbing a paint brush
a color or two
let's see where
this all leads to

I begin with a color stroke
here and there
adding more paints
again here and there

I start to see something
begin to appear
if only I would add
this here and there

my flowers begin to
come alive on the page
more bright colors
a stroke here and there

I love to play
late at night in my room
 just painting away
it seems to me
magic begins here

a little bit later
I have finished my work
I like what I see
creation and beauty
filled up on the page

creative play
my best friend
never knowing what
will come
no worry or care

sometimes the best work
comes
when I just play and play
letting the
inner girlie
come out to play

Watercolors

Inspired from a card by watercolorist Chris Haltigan

Watercolors

I am drawn to their beauty
spontaneous and wild
fluidity of color
brushing onto the page

I watch and I wait
to see the colors flow
not always knowing
which way they will go

Brushes and paints
Tubes of colors and just water
beautiful, mystical
surprising and fun
watercolors teach me
how to be patient
learning to let go of
my expectations

Playing with brushes
with my inner baby girl
always finding a
creative surprise
there waiting for me

Watercolors and beauty
 is ever changing my
artistic walk
I've grown as
an artist
trusting my instincts
playing like a child
intuitive and free
watercolors
you are loved
by me

Gathering words

Gathering words

words come to mind
write them down
keep them close
collect them
reach for one
inspiration comes
write a poem
add to a story
play with words
remember words
paint with words

words are everywhere
just pay attention
to the unusual ones
we don't use them
everyday
share them

I love words
listen for them
use them
they are beautiful
they resound
words
they come
if only we listen

Release

Release

painting
playing
brushes and colors
pastels and pencils
words coming
girlie forming
scribbles and fun
colors bright
childlike

finding my inner girlie
painting with release
letting go of all
perfection
just playing with me
in this moment

time in my studio
time to just play
finding myself here
within this canvas wall

release
relax
letting go
just here
in this
playful moment
serenity
calmness
release from all fear
